Zen-Cart Shopping Cart Customization

We wish to start with the Zen-Cart open source shopping cart package available at (http://www.zen-cart.com) and make custom modifications to the system. The current website (www.megaton2080.com) is using a custom built cart which does not work well. We will be adding a few custom database fields as well as setting up direct shipping with our fulfillment center. This center uses a simple XML API which we will need to include in our Zen-Cart customization. We also need to capture the value after the trailing slash as this information is the name of the sales rep and we must record it with the order. Example www.megaton2080.com/Thomas We would not actually want a directory named Thomas. We would want to capture the text after the trailing slash and record it while still displaying the regular home page. We also need to add a few custom reporting features for our accountant. We must be able to have multiple users for the system and a way to record who has logged in. This should be a reasonably simple task for a seasoned PHP / MySQL expert.
